Whether you want to end the year on a high or start the new year with an up-beat, positive attitude towards your practice, these art opportunities will get you there! I know too well that the end of the year can feel like the time to wind down and have some time off, but I think if you want to push yourself and have those targets to create something beautiful, then that can only be a good thing! I definitely need to have a goal post to aim for.
The highlight opportunity coming up is the Derwent Art Prize. If you’re an artist that loves your pencil then this is the competition for you! It’s open to artists from around the world and showcases the very best 2D and 3D works created in pencil, colour pencil, pastel, graphite and charcoal. The deadline is the 4th of January so if you have some Christmas holiday booked off (for those part-time artists) you’ll have plenty of time to make your next masterpiece!
